Okuma Andros Jigging Combo

Catching fish
on light tackle
is one of the
heights of
sport fishing.

So companies in
recent years have developed rod-and-reel combos for light-tackle angling.

Here’s one
from Okuma:
the Okuma Andros rod and reel, built for light-tackle jigging for tuna and big game.

Introduced this summer, the combo features a lever-drag, two-speed, aluminum reel built to be compact, not wasting space.

The recessed reel foot allows the reel to sit low-profiled on the rod, maximizing spool capacity.

A minimum of frame rises over the spool, and the drag for cast control is tied into the drag for fighting fish, instead of
two separate systems.

The right-side plate is removed with a single screw, minimizing hardware while adding convenience.

The IM6 graphite, two-piece rod includes a split butt for reduced weight and better comfort, and steel guide frames with Ziroconium inserts to deal with big fish and handle braided line as well as mono.

The two pieces connect at the handle for a more natural bend and a one-piece feel, the company says.

Plus the two pieces make transportation easier.

At press time, the combo was yet to be featured on the Okuma Web site.

But further information is available on these Word document press releases: Andros reels, Andros rods.

Info is also available in the 2011 catalog that can be downloaded from the company's Web site.
