St. Croix Avid Surf Rods

When you start soaking yourself into fishing, you need more rods,
you discover, the company St. Croix says.

St. Croix, builder of surf rods for decades, has introduced Avid Surf Rods.

A series of 11 lightweight "powerhouses," the rods are made with premium blanks and the latest components, the company says.

Yet Avid Rods, available for both spinning and casting reels, are meant to minimize your cash layout.

Some of the features include graphite blanks made with St. Croix’s
Integrated Poly Curve Technology.

That's meant to taper the rods more smoothly, creating smoother action and greater sensitivity, yet increased strength.

The rods are meant to maximize casting distance and be powerful yet light for comfort.

Features also include Fuji K-Series Concept Tangle Free Guides, with a slope intended to shed line tangles before they happen.

Available in lengths from 7 to 12 feet, Avid Surf Rods retail from $230 to $380.

Whether you'll buy another rod isn't the question.

How soon -- that's the question, St. Croix says.
