Rapala Scatter Rap

Nothing can make fish pounce more than a
lure that imitates a spooked or wounded baitfish.

Rapala introduced Scatter Raps early this year.

The lures impart the most evasive, erratic, aggressive action ever seen, Rapala says.

That’s because of the unique, cup-shaped lip.

Some anglers are saying the lures
are the company's next big thing.

They're saying the lure, made from balsa wood, can impart a variety of actions.

That includes not only side-to-side scatter, but also an erratic up-and-down that drives fish crazy, and also a traditional wobble on a steady retrieve.

But they’re saying the
lure is best retrieved at
varying speeds on a single
cast to make the hard bait
go bonkers in different ways.

Ways they’ve
never seen before.

An angler’s understanding
of the lure correlates to the success of using the plug,
they say.

The lure can also be trolled.

Anglers say the lures are also durable or tough,
resistant to nicks and loss of paint.

Scatter Raps are available in
several models that were already
classics from Rapala with traditional lips.

The models are the Scatter Rap Crank,
Shad, Minnow and CountDown.

They come in lots of cool colors, including many of Rapala’s classics.

Scatter Raps themselves might become classics.

They're making anglers pounce.
