Halco Skim Stick

Hardly anything is more exciting to an angler than baitfish seen skimming across the water surface.

A big fish below is surely attacking the bait.

Halco Tackle, reportedly Australia’s leading lure manufacturer, is introducing a unique offshore lure.

The Skim Stick 185 features an innovative lip to skim the lure across the surface, like a skittering baitfish.

The lure can draw phenomenal strikes from king mackerel or wahoos, Halco said.

“Tuna killer!” outdoor writer Doug Olander said.

The lure, with a long, skinny profile like a ballyhoo, is a like a mix between a stick bait and a popper.

It can be cast or trolled, and comes with two single hooks, meant for superior hook-setting, compared witih hooks with multiple points.

Single hooks can also be less risky to anglers when handling hooked fish.

The lure comes in various colors and includes scales and internal holographics in some.

When that big fish below, chasing the bait, slams a surface lure this -- that might be the only thing more exciting to an angler.
