Stratos
189 VLO

A boat like a pro’s can be a dream, but a compromise can be reality.

The Stratos VLO, a largemouth bass boat, is a compromise.

But hardly.

The VLO – pronounced VEE-lo – might be less speedy than bass rigs that cost $80,000, a typical price.

But the VLO, an 18-foot 9-incher,
is only $28,000, the manufacturer’s suggested retail price.

The VLO, rated for a maximum
150 m.p.h. outboard, might only reach the low 60 miles per hour,
but you save $50,000.

Besides, the speed isn’t shabby, and the boat’s details and innovation can be comparable to more expensive boats.

Stuff like a hull designed to gain the most power from a smaller engine, terrific, clever rod storage, cockpit carpets that are snap-in for easy cleaning, a recessed trolling-motor pedal in the bow, and a built-in, large, 34-gallon livewell in the stern.

The VLO features no individual console for the passenger to sit behind, but a pop-up windshield
for your co-angler. More innovation.

A compromise?

For the average angler, not really.

In these economic times, Stratos was particularly innovative about that.
