Fuel. Prices. Are.

Frightening.

That makes fishing
on boats spendy.

So if something can
be done, that helps.

The company Lehr
has introduced
propane-powered outboard engines.

Propane costs less than gasoline, and, according to Lehr, can run five times more efficiently than gas.

Fuel cost doesn’t seem the main reason Lehr developed the engines.

Dedicated to environmentally friendly technology, Lehr seemed most interested in a cleaner planet.

Propane engines are up to 50 times cleaner than gasoline ones, the company says.

But cheaper boating
is an attractive bonus
to anglers.

Available in either 2-1/2- or 5-horsepower, the propane engines
can run on either a 16.4-ounce “camping” bottle, readily available,
or larger containers, like 5-gallon ones commonly sold for barbecue grills.

The camping-bottle-size conveniently slips into a holder built into
the engine.

The larger containers
are easily attached
by a hose to the engine.

This. Engine. Runs.

Cheaper.

And much cleaner.
