Ex 80-3
Reel

An angler never experiences a reel like when fighting big game.

When a fish like
a 100-pound tuna rockets off, nuances
like reel speed
suddenly matter.

A lot.

It’s fitting that Avet is introducing a three-speed reel for big game.

That's instead of a usual two-speed or single-speed.

The company’s Ex 80-3 is a three-speed reel for 80- to 130-pound
mono or 100- to 200-pound braid.

One speed is “blazing fast,” the company says, for clearing trolled lines.

Another is mid gear, for fighting fish.

The other is low gear, when brute, winching power is needed.

Gear Ratios

High: 3.2:1

Medium: 2.0:1

Low: 1.0:1

Mono Capacity (Estimated Yards)

80-Pound: 750 Yards

100-Pound: 600 Yards

130-Pound: 450 Yards

Inches Per Crank

Low: 14 Inches

Braid Capacity (Estimated Yards)

100-Pound: 2,500 Yards

130-Pound: 1,700 Yards

200-Pound: 1,100 Yards

Maximum drag is 50 pounds
at strike and 57 pounds at full.

The reel, $899, comes in
black matte and the company’s
other standard colors.
