Power Handles from the company Smooth Drag

Think about it.

What’s the most
important part on
a fishing reel?

Sure, the drag
is crucial.

So are other parts,
from the gears to
the spool and
everything between.

But when you fish, you use the handle the most.

The performance of the handle should be right up there in importance.

The handle affects power and comfort, most of all.

The company Smooth Drag, well-known for providing replacement
drag washers and other reel parts, has introduced a new line of reel
handles called the Power Handles.

Anglers can use them to get the most out of the handle, the company
says, on most popular spinning and conventional reels, including from
Shimano, Penn, Daiwa, Abu Garcia and Fin Nor.

Power Handles are made
to increase cranking power
or torque and add comfort.

The length increases power,
and the ability to “roll” the wrist
around the knob provides ad-
ditional force, the company says.

No more inefficient, "straight-arm"
cranking, it says.

This can all increase comfort, too, because of reduced strain and fatigue
in the wrist, forearm and fingers.

T-bar knobs and round knobs are available.

Comfort can also come from these different knobs that can fit the hand better, including because two different sizes of the T-bar knobs are available.

The anodized aluminum construction in the handles is also lighter in weight than stock brass handles.

Plus the handles look sharp -- hi-tech, attractive, fast -- like a souped-up car.
