Every vessel in the company’s StraitEdge line, a series made up of the angling kayak, a non-angling one, a two-person kayak, and a canoe, is reportedly unique in the following way. Most self-bailing inflatable kayaks are designed for white water, so are typically built to rock somewhat to allow quick turns and maneuvers, the company says. All the StraitEdge crafts are built with an aluminum rib frame, including an aluminum bow and stern, that improves tracking in open waters, Advanced Elements says. The hull is designed to track similar to a hard-shell sit-on-top kayak, yet can be packed away in a duffel bag, included with the kayak. Simply unfold and inflate the kayak, and attach the seat. The StraitEdge Angler is 41 pounds and 9 feet 8 inches long.
