Penn Battle Spinning Reel

Sometimes the
name of a reel
says it all.

The Battle, a new spinning reel from Penn, is built for
just that: the battle,
or a tough fight,
with a fish.

The reel is also built for the rigors of saltwater fishing, the company says.

An aluminum body and sideplate are made to be sturdy,
maintaining precise gear alignment under pressure.

The reel also features the company’s well-known HT100 drag washers, offering a wide adjustment range, staying “calm, cool and collected” during the fight, Penn says.

Features also include the company’s Techno-Balanced Rotor,
meant for a smooth retrieve, and a stainless steel main shaft for corrosion protection and durability.

A machined aluminum spool, also built for strength, comes with a band
to prevent superlines from slipping, so no mono backing is needed.

The wire bail is extra thick, and the oversized, soft handle can add comfort and control.

The reel comes in seven models:

Model              Gear Ratio        Max Drag        Line Retrieve

BTL2000         6.2:1                5.4#                 29”
BTL3000         6.2:1                6#                    31”
BTL4000         6.2:1                25#                  34”
BTL5000         5.6:1                25#                  37”
BTL6000         5.6:1                25#                  39”
BTL7000         5.3:1                25#                  39”
BTL8000         5.3:1                25#                  41”

Line capacities, depending on the model, range from 260 yards of
4-pound mono to 390 yards of 20-pound mono, or 260 yards of 8-pound braid to 550 yards of 50-pound braid.

The reels, depending on the model, weigh 9.6 ounces to 29.2 ounces.

The suggested retail prices range from $99.95 to $119.95, depending on the model.
