G. Loomis IMX Surf Rods

Young surf anglers inevitably catapult their casts as far as possible.

Somewhat experienced shore
anglers mistakenly decide long
casts are unnecessary.

The fish are in the wash at their feet, they say.

But not always, the most experienced reply.

Ideally surf anglers should be able to shoot for the moon with a cast.

G. Loomis is here to lend a hand.

The company this summer has introduced the IMX Surf Rods.

They’re designed for the long casts required for success in the surf,
G. Loomis says.

The series of spinning rods, ranging from 8 feet to 11 feet, are built
for 12- to 40-pound line or ½-ounce to 6-ounce lures.

One interesting feature is the new Fuji K-Frame Alconite Guides,
built to be tangle-proof.

The guide frames lean forward so the line can be cast more freely,
and any loops that might form are less likely to catch or wrap around
the frames.

Another feature is a unique handle that allows the reel seat to be micro-adjusted to set the reel position according to the length of your arm.

With these rods, built for both monofilament and Power Pro, “you’ll be
in total control … able to achieve maximum casting distance with this new technology,” the company says.

Bombs away! G. Loomis says.
