Daiwa Hyper Saltiga and Saltist Reels

Tuna are one hyper fish, scorching the waters
with more speed than most.

That’s why anglers like catching them.

Daiwa’s line of Hyper reels are built to be faster than others.

That’s why anglers like using them.

Daiwa has introduced Hyper versions – faster versions –
of a number of the company’s preexisting reels in recent years.

Now the company has introduced two new ones:
the Saltiga Lever Drag Hyper Speed and the Saltist Lever Drag
Hyper Speed.

Both are faster versions of reels the company previously made.

Both are built for jigging for tuna, fishing that uses some of the
fastest retrieves.

The fastest of the models boasts a gear ratio of 7.3 to 1, compared
with 6.3 to 1 for the old versions.

That means the spool turns 7.3 times for every turn of the handle.

The ratio rips-in 52 inches of line – almost 4 ½ feet – in one full turn
of the handle.
