The National Marine Fisheries Service has proposed its initial recommendations for the catch quotas for bluefin tuna for the 2007 fishing year, and click here for the Federal Register notice (pdf file). The catch quotas, or the number of metric tons of the fish that are allowed to be caught during the year, are first established, and eventually the bag limits for recreational anglers are passed.
