The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife has confirmed that a Bowfin caught by Chris Hoffman of Hamilton on July 4, 2011, is officially a new state record. The fish was taken from the Delaware River near the Mercer Generating Station in Trenton and weighed 10 lbs. 4 oz., surpassing the previous record by two pounds, 10 ounces.
