From an e-mail from the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife
on Nov. 30:
The NJDEP Division of Fish and Wildlife recently conducted its annual survey of the lake trout population in Round Valley Reservoir.
The reservoir has produced four state record fish and is regarded as one of the premier fishing locations in the state. By
gathering data from fish trapped over night biologists can determine the health of the naturally reproducing lake trout population and adjust creel limits if necessary to maintain this trophy fishery.
StarLedger videographer and Emmy Award winner Andre Malok recently accompanied division biologist Shawn Crouse to Round Valley to document the survey process - and marvel over the number and size of fish captured.
The video can be viewed at the
NJ.com website.
