A Fishermen’s March on Washington, D.C., is set for 12 noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday, February 24, on the steps of the Capitol.
They will demonstrate against “the unintended negative impacts of the Magnuson Stevens Conservation and Management Act,” the Save the Summer Flounder Fisheries' Web site said.
The closure of the sea bass fishery and the severe regulations on fluke fishing are examples, according to many anglers.
Both recreational and commercial anglers, two groups at odds with each other in the past, will participate.
See the SSFFF’s Web site for details.
